The Gantry type machine center is an advancement of the horizontal and vertical CNC machine centers. It incorporates more dimensions of the cutting tool thus able to handle more variety of operations.

The technology of high speed machining has been advanced more by the development of the gantry type-machining center. This equipment is able to handle larger volume of work while enhancing accuracy and productivity. Incorporation of the special five-axis spindle allows better machining due to the added dimensions, which the spindle head can be manipulated. This type of machine provides great savings for manufacturing space while also providing a great variety of cutting solutions. Its construction structure provides great stability and rigidness suited for milling operations. The automatic tool changing mechanism enhances the machine performance and productivity.

The Computer numeric control is one of the most important accessories of the gantry-machining center. It allows easier conversions of the design on to work pieces thus reducing human errors.

The spindle-blowing accessory is also an important component of the equipment in the removal of chaff generated during the milling operation. Too much chips on the spindle interferes with spindle rotation and reduces tool life.

The lubrication circulation system helps in cooling down the tool during operation, which increases tool life. It also reduces friction on the parts hence adding the overall life of the machine.

Additional safety has been made by incorporating a half protection for the working table, which also prevents dislodged chips landing on to bearings, which can cause damage to the equipment.
